
Stafford Hartman, a soprano and artist in residence at Memphis Opera, performed from a wheelchair during Saturday night's performance of
Tosca at the company. Three days earlier she was shot in her right knee and a bullet grazed her left ear as she was robbed outside her home in Memphis's Cooper-Young neighborhood.
The robbery took place Wednesday night at 10 pm she was returning from a rehearsal of
Tosca, in which she has an off-stage role as the voice of a shepherd boy.
