Yulia Tsenova (b. 1948) graduated from the State Academy of Music in Sofia in composition as a student of Pancho Vladigerov and piano with Bogomil Starshenov. She enjoys an international career as a jazz soloist and her works have been widely performed throughout Europe. At present she is professor of jazz piano at the State Academy.
Her music comprises a unique synthesis of styles: jazz, folk and modern aesthetics, and according to New Grove, she wrote a piece in 1998 titled π = 3.14 (scored for 1v, chbr orch).
